We went back to the lake early this morning. But closer to home. It was early and quite cool, especially since the sun was just coming up. 13C. No one was there, but sweetie-pie, me and the birds.
As it got a bit warmer, sweetie-pie bravely fetched some sticks from the water. He loved it. He has the stick in this image.
Boucle had a wonderful time on a beautiful fall morning……..
Boucle could not be happier. It was a perfect fall day, sunny and 24C.
And we went to our favorite summer beach.
And we walked and Boucle went into the water again, and chased sticks.
He loved it.
He danced with the sticks.
He ran up and down the beach.
He ran far away and up and down.
And then we had a summer picnic in September.
And then we went to the other beach.
And he walked and ran some more.
So much happiness at the end of the morning….
….on his ride home……

There are so many pesky squirrels out this fall.

…Boucle was so happy to go to the lake very early this morning….
…he saw a monarch butterfly on the sand……
…and a swan family on the lake….two adults and two teenagers…….
…of course there were the ducks and the geese….
…big rushing noisy waves…….
…and the beautiful morning light and beach……
…sweetie-pie happiness……..
I love this one.
It is us. Boucle is on the leash, but you can see how relaxed he is with his adorable ears flat. I just love his shadow in this one. As for me…..well…….that is certainly not how I really look……the big hump is a backpack, I am wearing a large loose fleece hoody as the morning was cool. But the hat is me, especially if it were profiled in such a way that it didn’t look so Mountie like. 🙂
But I still love it….it is us.
…beautiful Boucle at the lake early Sunday morning……..
…sweetie-pie has never gone in the lake… he doesn’t even like to get his toes wet and would walk away from the water’s edge…..and he is 8 year old…..
….yesterday morning, was a very big morning for Boucle……..
…we were standing on the beach and there was a slab of concrete in the water about 6 feet in. The sun was shining on its surface and Boucle seemed curious about it. So I stood at the edge of the water…..and he put his toes in.
…that in itself was very brave of Boucle……
…then he put his foot in…..looking at the slab a ways out…..
…you could see that he wanted to get there, was curious about it, but didn’t want to wade into the water……
…so I stood there, on the edge, for about 10 minutes……and let him slowly dip his toes, then his feet into the water….closer and closer to the slab. Another 10 minutes of standing there while he went in and out of the water, behind me on the sand and then around back into the water. I did not take photos of this, even though I wanted to, because I didn’t want to distract him from his bravery…..
….finally, he was deep enough, over his knees to get to the slab and make it up…..after a few minutes up there, I started taking pictures…….
….you can see how tentative and brave he was…….
….and then further down the beach…….he went in to his underbelly to try to get to a floating tennis ball….
….he didn’t go out to it, and stopped pretty much where he was in the photo, but still, to get that far, was very brave…….
…so now….I will probably have a hard time keeping sweetie-pie out of the water…..
…such a brave good boy…..
…and what a wonderful morning for sweetie-pie.. 🙂
