“Jane – I could tell that you were going somewhere and were going to take me.  I could tell!  Even though you wore your going out somewhere clothes, which normally means that I am not going with you, this morning…. I could tell.  All morning I have been following you around because I could tell.   Normally, when you are ready to leave, I go to my favorite spot on the sofa to snooze and wait until you return.  But this morning, I could tell.

So I am standing at the door in front of you, while you are here with your handbag and keys, and you still have not put the leash on me.  Where’s my sweater! Why do you now look at me that way, all soft and gooey, as if you maybe won’t take me.  But, this morning, I just knew you would.
