…after sweetie-pie saw me pack the backpack…..
…a sure sign that we are going to the lake……
…and now I just slowed the whole thing down by wanting to take his picture……

Yesterday, Boucle and I visited the east end of Toronto on the lake, the Scarborough Bluffs for our excursion of the weekend.
And I remembered the first time Boucle and I visited the Bluffs, on a cold December day in 2007, when Boucle was 1.5 years old. He was so young, and it was the first time I tied him to a pole and walked away (a few feet) to take a pic. He was afraid I was leaving him…..abandoning him….and he whimpered and cried.
I was really only a few feet away, but he felt is was forever away.
Yesterday, we visited again. And I thought, as I saw the pole, that I should take a pic again of sweetie-pie. Then and now. Now, no whimpering. Now, no leash needed for him to stay when I say stay. Such a good dog.
So much happiness in all these years together…….
…when Boucle was a small puppy, the first time I turned on the blow dryer after giving him a bath…..
…he got so scared that he slipped out of my hands…….
… raced at top speed out the bathroom……
…around the corner
…and straight through the screen……like an action star……..
…poor sweetie-pie…..
…he was so lucky that it was summer and the patio door was open……

I have the replacement since that time, but each spring I see how much he enjoys the easy in and out, that I leave it the way it is……..just for him…….

….seeing the world through the wonder of Boucle’s eyes and soul……
…Boucle is now bravely going into the water whenever he can….
…and he walked through the water to get to this sandbar……
