…this morning at the lake…….
…Lake Ontario……
…sweetie-pie waiting out the storm……..
A lot of dogs are bothered by thunder and lightening, but not sweetie-pie.
When I just got him, during the first storm I sat in the kitchen beside him. Everytime there was lightening or thunder, I would not react, just casually looked about. And out of the corner of my eye, I could see him looking at me, to see if it would bother me. Since I didn’t react, I think he learned that he didn’t need to react. So Boucle is not afraid of storms. But….the downside is that he is not afraid of storms and he really should be, so that if he were ever on his own in a storm, he would take shelter. Upsides and downsides……
…sweetie-pie………
He is so good. This will be one of my favorite pics of him. I will place it on my inspiration board.
Look how good he sits…and waits…..
I did not ask him to sit or wait, but…….
he found a spot where I could not miss his presence……
As he knew that a steak was sizzling on the stove…..
and then he heard the clink of his china bowl being placed on the counter…….
surely it was for him, he was thinking…..
and then he saw me take some steak and cut it up…….
yes…it was going to be for him he thought, great steaks floating in his mind………..
but WAIT!
I moved away from the counter – where is she going? How can she move away from the steak before the dish is placed on the floor….
as I went into the dining room to get the camera to preserve the moment……poor sweetie-pie…now he is hoping that that steak will be his, all certainty is gone……….
and look how patiently and politely he sits and waits…….such a good dog……
sweetie-pie………
P.S. sweetie-pie vacuumed up the steak in a few seconds. Faster than any Hoover. 🙂
Every evening Boucle and I play a bit of fetch. He is excellent at running after the ball/toys, but doesn’t really like to bring them back to me. He piles them up on a spot away from me. I have to use many different toys.
Each of these photos is before a different toy throw, and is sweetie-pie concentrating very hard….waiting for the moment I release and throw the toy……..
He first gets all excited and wags his tail as fast as it will wag…tick tock tick tock……
Then, he knows I don’t throw until he sits….so he will finally sit….the tail stops wagging……he concentrates really hard…waiting…..licking his lips…..making funny squeaky lamb noises……semi stillness……..
And then……I twitch my hand with the ball….and off he goes……..
